New Clients; New Matters

Whether you are part of a large firm or a sole practitioner, your lifeblood is new business.  Evaluation and care are required.  Over the next several weeks new Tips will discuss this issue.

The first question:  How did the client come to you?  If from a referral, you must evaluate the referral source.  Another attorney?  A past client?  Friend?  The Internet?  Internet warrants extreme caution.  Another attorney or past client, consider the source.  And if the new client will not say where they got you, red flags waving.
