Must the Mediator Speak Your Client’s Language

Obviously a topic for multiple Tips.  Every situation is different but some considerations will be constant.  The client’s comfort level.  What languages do you speak?  How complex is the matter?  Will the ability of the mediator to speak the client’s language affect his or her ability to achieve a resolution?  Will a translator or interpreter (not the same thing) solve the issue?  All of these and more will be discussed in upcoming Tips.
